A spacecraft is a type of vehicle, designed and built for flying in outer space. Humans have built manned spacecraft for flights around Earth and to the Moon and back, as well as unmanned spaceprobes for exploring other parts of the Solar System.
Spacecraft have also been depicted in sicence fiction. A common theme in science fiction is spacecraft flying faster than the speed of light. This is usually done for interstellar and intergalactic spaceflights. Some commons cience fiction methods for this are warp drive, like in Star Trek, and hyperspace, like in Star Wars.
